Right to Education Local Task Force 19 – NEIU 19

Purpose

The Local Task Force (LTF) #19 is a parent-led group supported by the PA State Task Force. Its mission is to improve, expand, and monitor special education services and supports for eligible children.

Members include families, educators, service providers, and representatives from The Arc of NEPA, NEIU 19, and Lackawanna-Susquehanna County agencies. Together, they plan opportunities to ensure that every eligible student receives a Free Appropriate Public Education (FAPE) tailored to their individual needs.

Membership

All parents and guardians of students with disabilities are encouraged to attend. To become a member, simply attend at least two meetings.

Each meeting includes introductions, updates from providers and the State Task Force, and a featured presentation on a special education topic. Attendees can also network with parents, professionals, educators, and advocates.
