Title1

Title I is a federally funded program designed to help school districts improve educational opportunities for students. It provides support to help children meet state standards in reading and mathematics.

At Susquehanna Community Elementary School, Title I funds are used to provide academic interventions for students in four-year-old kindergarten through grade 6 who begin to show signs of difficulty. These supports are delivered through a school-wide model called Response to Instruction and Intervention (RtII).

Students qualify for targeted intervention based on a variety of assessments, including state and local tests, benchmark and diagnostic evaluations, progress monitoring, and classroom performance. Instruction is delivered in small groups by specialists using research-based methods.

Parents and guardians of students receiving additional support are kept informed through quarterly progress reports, parent-teacher conferences, and ongoing communication via phone or email.

For questions or concerns about the Title I program, please contact the Title I Coordinator, Mr. Brent Soden, at 570-853-4921 x1337.
