HVAC Grant for Upgrades

Susquehanna Community School District receives $300K from the Public School Facilities Improvement Grant to be used for HVAC Upgrades

Superintendent John Rushefski is thrilled to announce that $300,000 was awarded to Susquehanna Community School District for HVAC upgrades. The Facilities Improvement Grant is a competitive grant overseen by the Commonwealth Financing Committee, which released a list of award recipients on October 22, 2024. At the October 16 Regular Meeting, the Susquehanna Board unanimously approved this HVAC project, and they now have $300K to offset the financial impact of just over $400,000. This funding will ultimately improve the comfort and safety of our learning environments, ensuring a healthier atmosphere for students and staff. The Susquehanna Community School District would like to extend our sincere thanks to our State Senator Lisa Baker and State Representative Jonathon Fritz, as well as County Commissioners (Judy Hershel, David Darrow, Alan Hall), and Lanesboro Mayor Chris Maby, whose steadfast support and advocacy played a crucial role in securing this grant. Their commitment to enhancing our educational facilities allows us to delve deeper into providing a superior educational experience.
